Training for your childcare business

You can access the training if you work in the non-maintained childcare setting within Cardiff. This includes volunteers and non-registered providers in early years and childcare settings.

We may restrict how many people from the same setting can attend a course.

Please make sure that you read the terms and conditions before booking. You can email workforcedevelopment@cardiff.gov.uk to book.

You can ask to be added to a reserve list if a course is full. We will contact you if spaces become available.

Payment

You must pay for courses in advance. We will call you to take payment via debit or credit card.

Council settings must provide their cost codes when booking. You must keep a record of the transactions.

We will send booking confirmation and payment receipt by email.

You can substitute staff members on courses up to one day before a course starts. Please contact us by email if you want to do this.

You can transfer a booking to a later course if you give us at least 7 days’ notice.

Please email workforcedevelopment@cardiff.gov.uk to make changes to your booking.

We can only issue a refund if you cancel at least 7 days before the course starts.

If we have to cancel a course for any reason, we will issue refunds.

For Flying Start settings who do not follow the cancellation policy, or if the staff do not attend, the setting will be charged the standard course attendance fee. This is in the terms of the Flying Start Service Specification. There will be no exceptions to this rule.
