- feeding,
- sleep, and
- sensory needs.
The group is free to attend.

If you want to attend, please contact One Group Grŵp Un on Facebook or call 029 2087 2717.
Parent Nurture Programme
The Parent Nurture Programme (PNP) is for parents of children aged 3 to 11 who have disabilities or additional needs.
Parents of children with additional needs may spend significantly more time caring for their children. An important part of the programme is exploring ways and encouraging you to nurture yourself.
The programme also offers ideas and strategies that you can use to help support your child when they are overwhelmed by their emotions. It also helps explain why children behave the way they do and looks at verbal and non-verbal communication.
What the programme covers
Over 11 weeks you will cover several topics, including:
- understanding why children behave the way they do,
- recognising the feelings behind behaviour,
- exploring different approaches to discipline,
- connecting and communicating with your child,
- finding ways to develop cooperation and self-discipline in children, and
- the importance of looking after and nurturing ourselves.
How the programme works
The programme is delivered by practitioners from Cardiff Parenting and Flying Start teams.
We can work with you individually or in a group setting. We can deliver sessions in person or online. Each session lasts around 2 hours with a break for refreshments.
If you choose to go to an in-person session, we provide a creche.
We recommend you come to all 11 sessions.
You can attend a session on your own or with someone else who cares for your child. For example, grandparents or support workers from the school.
What’s Next
The What’s Next Cardiff website has a lot of useful information for 16 to 24 year olds with additional needs to choose their next steps and explore opportunities.
