About the programme

We deliver personalised interventions with parents and children in the family home or community venue. We have a wealth of training in, and experience of, working with caregivers, babies, and young children. Every family is unique, so every piece of work will be built around your family.

We will begin by contacting you by telephone to ask you some questions and tell you more about our service. If agreed, we will arrange a time for the psychologist and psychology-led practitioner to come and visit you. During this initial visit, we will ask more questions about you and your family and agree together the areas you would like to focus on during our work together.

What is covered?

We will bring ideas from psychology to help you further understand and support your child’s development and wellbeing and you will bring your knowledge and expertise of your own child and family.

As a team, we are best placed to help you with:

  • your developing relationship with your child,
  • your child’s behaviour,
  • your child’s play,
  • early development, and
  • your child’s wellbeing.

If, when we first meet, it is identified that we are not best placed to support you, we can signpost you to the right help and support.

Practical Information

If you agree to work with us, we will visit you regularly, for about an hour, over an agreed period. The psychology-led practitioners in the team will carry out these visits with you and your child.

The psychologists in the team will help to plan and oversee the work.

We will ask you to complete an agreement form and a short questionnaire before and after our work together. We will also ask you about your experience of working with us.

You will also receive a written summary of the work we complete together. You can share this with whoever you wish to share it with.

If you have an older child, we have another psychology led team called Parents First who may be able to support you in a similar way.
