Description

Mellow Bumps is designed to support parents-to-be to decrease stress levels for both parents.

You will be supported to find ways to manage your emotional wellbeing during and after pregnancy. Small changes can make a big difference and if you are happier and taken care of, your baby will feel it too.

There will be time to think and talk about how you feel about becoming a mum.

In the supportive group, you will think about you and your baby – focusing on what your baby can already do and what they can learn from you.

We will support you to find your own solutions and meet other new mums along the way.

What is covered?

  • Common worries and stresses of becoming a parent.
  • What you think being a parent will be like, both the challenges and the rewards.
  • Supporting health and wellbeing in pregnancy.
  • Ways to help relaxation and stress reduction – and why that is important for you, your partner and your baby.
  • How babies communicate and let you know how they are feeling.
  • Your important part in developing your baby’s brain by playing and talking with them.
  • Your role in building strong foundations for your baby’s future.

It will be a safe space for yourself and other mums-to-be to share your journey and experiences.

You will be given a booklet and other materials to help support your learning over the 7 weeks.

Practical Information

There are separate Mums-to-be groups and Dads-to-be groups giving a safe space to talk with others who will be sharing some of the same feelings.

We can work with you in a face to face or online group.

Before the group begins you can have up to 3 sessions with the facilitator so you can discuss what the group will be like and what you can expect from it – we want you to feel ready to join the group.
